Schulich Law Clinics

Some of the best, hands on, experiential learning opportunities available to you will be found at one of our clinics, where you will work on real cases with members of the local community, providing legal resources they may otherwise not have access to.

Dalhousie legal aid service

Established in 1970, Dalhousie Legal Aid Service (DLAS) — known as “the Clinic” — is the oldest clinical legal education program in Canada and the first to provide legal aid services to low-income communities in Nova Scotia.

DLAS provides a structured experiential learning environment that allows you to learn and practice lawyering skills in a community law office located in Halifax. Emphasis is placed on skills training, independence, and self-reliance, giving you the opportunity to acquire skills and knowledge that are not a part of a traditional legal education.
